Exercise Therapy
Exercise is the most widely used and best known type of physical therapy and exercise prescription may form part of a physiotherapy programme. The Clinic has a spacious and well equipped gym area where, depending on the patient's condition, exercises may be performed by the patient alone or with the therapist's help.
All exercise programmes are tailored for the individual according to their needs. Modified pilates and gymball exercises can be used for back, neck and shoulder problems for example. Knee and ankle problems may have body weight resisted exercises and proprioceptive exercises prescribed. Exercise therapy helps the patient restore the use of muscles, bones, and the nervous system .It seeks to relieve pain, improve strength and mobility and can help in the prevention of recurrence of pain and injury in conditions such as back problems.
The duration of the exercise therapy program varies depending on the injury/illness being treated and the patient's response to therapy.
